Mher Shahnazaryan's short story "By the Call of the Homeland" is about a person's spiritual pain and inner struggle. Hayk, a young Armenian living in France, is heartbroken by betrayal in love and disillusioned with life. He returns to his homeland, Armenia, without knowing what awaits him there. His heart is filled with longing, sorrow, and uncertainty. He yearns to once again feel the breath of his native land, which is deeply connected in his wounded soul to the precious memories of his childhood. There, he encounters the kindness of the people, the warmth of his homeland, and Nare—a beautiful and mysterious young woman...
